We are in Moab UT for a couple days on our way to a (much needed) trip to California. There is some sort of "Jeep Safari" event going on this week and I have never seen so many SERIOUS 4WD jeeps and such!! Apparently this is like the 45th annual.

We are traveling in a Honda Pilot which looks like a toy compared to some of the serious 4WD vehicles we are seeing here.....

Every Easter, like clockwork. Serious stuff. Love to take my Scrambler some day before the Guvmint shuts Moab down forever.

The Jeep club we belong to here in sunny So. Calif. always goes the week after the Jeep Safari, most will be leaving for Moab on Wednesday or Thursday of this week. The town has emptied out, rv/motels/BLM spots are open, restaurants aren't jammed, trails are empty...We have been doing this for a number of years. Some of the members never miss a year as Moab is a wonderful place with many attractions.

It was packed with people while we were there. This has also been a free week for the national parks so that may account for some of the extra visitors in the area. We had a good time there at Canyonlands. Arches and Dead Horse SP.

Sorry I confused the issue, I meant that by going the week after the Jeep Safari the majority of the people and traffic have gone home, and we pretty much have the town, and the trails, with minimal traffic. (plus the vendors give everyone a good deal on the merchandise they don't want to haul home.)
