Is there a road completely paved from the main US to Alaska? I was thinking about doing a trip from NY up into Canada and across then up to Alaska sometime.

There is plenty of info about riding to/from/in Alaska here and at ADVrider forum. My understanding is that you can get within ~175 miles of the arctic circle on paved roads. After that, it is gravel-ish. Suggest you do some searching on these forums for that all important voice of experience.
