After 2,000 miles this is what the Mitas E08 look like. Not bad...I reckon I'll get 6-7 thou out of these...hopefully more.

Ths stock metzeler tourance tires on My S10 were the longest lasting, best performing street tire i've had on the S10. I replaced the rear at 6000 miles and the front and rear at 12000 miles. I have since switched to knobbies and get about 3000 from rear mitas mc60 and probably 6-8000 on the front. I am currently running a mitas mc60 front and shinko 705 rear and do not like the shink. On the road it doesnt grip well and likes to lose traction when i downshift into a corner but it also doesn't do very well offroad. I will wear it out and switch to a shinko 804 knobbie.xylo66 said:Great. I need a new rear as my factory fitted Metzler Tourance has worn down in the centre already on only 6000 miles !!! and I need to replace the rear. The front, strangely , is still good for MOT etc. although tempted to change both . I like the look of those Mita 08's you have fitted. Wonder how far you'd get out of them?
cheers
At least they're not called that officially, officailly they are known as 'A' or 'B' roads.... ::025::stutrump said:Hi JRE. Dont ride in the dirt sadly. Very hard to find any dirt roads in uk.

Sure no problem-let me know. I can do weekdays easier than weekends! But with planning either. Out last Friday in The Blackdowns AONB Somerset/Devon County borders on my S10 with Conti TKC70's back and front. Proved these can handle the local legal minor "C" roads with soft mud, leaves, grass in middle band of road plus in areas entirely covering the surface. To be honest the bike is very stable in these conditions on mud covered tarmac with excellent TC and brilliant ABS with unified braking working very well when I tried it out on the centre band mud etc! That in conjunction with the TKC70's it was awesome. If anyone else is interested in joining in then I can set up something in a new thread on UK/European.stutrump said:Hi Stridey. When I get a chance I'll take you up on that. Used to do a bit of trials riding so Id really love to try the S10 on some loose stuff!
