So I eventually got round to fitting the Hepco pannier racks to my '12 ST. I used the 6504531 model number version which is supposedly the right one for me. So anyway, as with a lot of things in life, I'm kinda stumped with these rails. The kit comes with 2 sets of spacers and the instructions tell me to install the longer spacers on the exhaust side, which I did....however it did not look vert 'symmetric'. So I switched them over which was kinda better but still its not an equal distance apart from the bike. Whats the verdict on this, go by the book and use the longer spacers on the exhaust side...or vice versa??
