....... to show this old guy around on the forest service roads in the area.

I'm planning to be in the Dahlonega area this weekend, 5/24-35, and the following weekend 5/31-6/01. I know my way around the tarmac in the area but not the gravel. Anyone want to show me the way or offer up suggestions I'd like that.

I'm very familiar with Riders Hill, bought a Guzzi from them in 2011. All Good folks there! They don't make'm any better then Anthony, Dave, Ian, ....

Damn Paul, you're a week or so too early. My riding buddy lives in Ellijay but is out of town until 6/3. I'm going up there on 6/5 for about a week. We both have Tenere's and ride a lot of forest roads between Ellijay and Suches. He moved up there from Sebastian about 8 years ago so he knows the area well. Yeah, Riders Hill is the chit. Dave has sold three bikes for me in the last couple of years.

Paul, maybe shoot "nga" a pm on the forum. He knows a lot of the gravel roads in the area. He has been a guide for me in the past. HTH

Paul,
I live in NW Atlanta, a short run up to the good stuff. I ride the North GA, Eastern TN, Western NC area all the time with ST or the DRZ, and know the area real well. I am uncertain whether I can make it up there this Sat (24th) - but maybe - but am definitely available the following Saturday (31st). Where are you staying? Your start location can help dictate whether we go east of Hwy 515 (Suches, Helen, Dahlonega) or west (Fort Mountain, the Cohuttas, Big Frog).

But I can show you as much dirt as you want. How gnarly do you want? I have a pretty definable threshold that dictates my limit on the ST, thereafter moving me to the DRZ. I can build you up on degree of difficulty, up to my limit anyhow! after that, I will show you the trail, and then you're on your own!

Let me know if you're still interested and we can PM each other.

Maybe a few of us ATL/N GA (or anyone else in the area) ST owners can give Paul a little tour next weekend? This weekend will be crazy on most of the FS roads - I think I'm gonna avoid becoming a hood ornament this weekend.
Any interest???

Sorry Paul, I missed that you are staying in the Dahlonega area. OK....we can find some really nice stuff over that way - perhaps ride within the big arc of Ellijay, Blue Ridge, Blairsville and Clayton.

Yes, we found the road. We ran into some thunder and lightning and a little rain - we dodged the heavy downpour though. I'm gonna post up a ride report and some pics in the Tall Trails section when I get some time.
