Picked up my 2012 Blue Super Tenere last friday from Neihouse . I cruised back roads all weekend and took the old lady for a ride and we both agree that this bike is amazing! She wants a back rest and id like a taller windshield sence im 6.5 but other than that we are all smiles!

Hello, New proud owner !

Welcome and it just keeps getting better and better with miles. It won't really smooth out until you are between 4-6k miles. Enjoy!

Hmm. I am 6' 4.5" and I have an (unproven) theory that us regular sized folks are actually getting clean air on the helmet because of our size, not in spite of it. Having said that, I intend to try a higher / bigger winshield soon to test my theory.

Hey Wade - I, too, am a new member and owner - welcome!

I'm also 6'5" and will be looking for a taller windshield.

Would be interested to know what you choose as a replacement?

I think I'll post a question here on the Modifications Forum and get some feedback.

Anyway - enjoy the S 10 ::003::

WadeD,

Welcome to our world! In my opinion you made a great choice in the Tenere, it is a fantastic bike! Not sure what options for a backrest there are. But this age of world-wide communications I am sure you will be able to find what you are looking for. At one point there aas a guy advertising his machine shop for fabricating work, you might check around and see if anyone in your area does that kind of work. Good luck!

Wade, I got my backrest from Russell Motorcycle Products when I bought my Russell Day Long saddle. A bit pricey (OK - a LOT pricey), but you can ride all day and be ready for more. I just completed a Bun Burner Gold (1,500 miles in 24 hours) and my butt could have kept on going. ::008:: My brain, on the other hand, was begging for a nap. :D
