Hey There,

My name is Jason and I just got a Tenere! A returning rider, 3 years ago I bought a Ducati Monster. I rode the snot out of it and tried a few tours but soon realized I might really appreciate a bigger, more touring oriented bike. I tried the new Tiger 800, VFR 1200, KTM 990, and a BMW K1200s, but the Yamaha XT1200Z was the best fit. My dream became an obsession, and then reality, when my wife had a black one surprise delivered to my garage this last weekend! Certainly the most excellent annirthmas present I could ever hope for. I was floored!

Now, I am eager to make it mine with key mods to allow me to ride/tour in comfort and safety. That's my story!

Greetings from D.C. and welcome aboard. A ride to a fancy restaurant for a thank-you dinner is in order :p

Thanks for the greetings & salutations mates! It's nice to be welcomed. And what a great age we live in to have the ability to start forums (and access them so easily) and share our respective tribal knowledge. I am sure I will benefit greatly from all the accumulated wisdom found here. Again, thanks for the reception!

To YZ454: Cheers man! Yes, it is a sweet area we live in for two-wheeled travel. I'd love to grab a beer and chat up your old-school self some day.

Diggin' the XT1200Z,

Jason

RED CAT is on to something saying your wife will never see you anymore. Hummm, those sneaky women. Probably by design. I'm just up the pike from Oregon in Western Washington. We're lucky to have lots of wide open places to ride a Tenere around here. It is the Swiss army knife of bikes. Enjoy your ride and welcome to the forum, Barry

Welcome aboard the S10 express from Oklahoma. You are lucky your wife chose the fast black model and not the slower blue. :D
