Thought I would stop in and give a quick hello and thanks for this forum. Everything I have read about oil and diff. grease levels have been spot on. If it wasn't for some of the threads on here, fighting the oil level demon would have admitted (Readmitted?) me to the mental ward.

Initially I wanted a 1200GS but the internet chatter scared me off, plus I already owned a 2007 FZ1 that had given me 30K trouble free miles.......so I traded it in for a matt grey Super T. I'm really going to miss the acceleration of the FZ, it sure was fun to ride, but was tough on the legs with the high pegs, or might have been I have gotten to old and stiff.

So far I love the bike and think I have made the right decision, now If I could only decide on what hard bags to put on it.

Welcome! I absolutely love that color - it's just "right" for this bike.

Don't mind the loss of acceleration your feeling right now, the old girl really wakes up with some miles on her. It just keeps getting better and better (I'm at 12k now and I swear the thing is still breaking in).

And, of course there's always the reflash that will change everything for the better.

Where in Alabama are you from? I grew up in Phenix City - just southeast of Montgomery on the Georgia state line.

Enjoy the new bike, and good luck finding the right bags - you'll get lots of opinions - I'm sure...

Welcome and you picked a great bike. I installed a full Arrow header and slip on, BMC air cleaner , installed CMJ, and had a Power commander five with a dyno map put on my bike. Really made it pull much harder and runs great. If you decide to go that route get hold of Wayne Tripp at Power Trip Performance in Birmingham Al. He did a custom map on my KTM adventure 3 years ago and he is a very good tuner.

::004:: Robert, hurry up and wear those stock tires out put on some K60 (or similar) and you'll forget all about the FZ. Lots of new ground to explore that the FZ wouldn't do. Like others have said motor will loosen over time and really suprise you how usable it is every where you go. Check out Space Travelers bike he has a Grey with some Zega Pros it really looks good.

I am from Shelby County Alabama and I just bought the 2013 Tenere in gray myself. I love the bike but, I am still in the breakin period myself so there is still a lot of stiffness and vibration that I'm sure will ease with time but all in all a great bike. I am looking for an OEM tall windscreen (clear) if anyone purchased one and decided to go with another style. I need a taller screen but just want to keep everything factory.

Thanks Everyone........ Came straight home from work and the bike had rolled over 600 miles so changed the oil and flushed the diff.

I can tell she's getting a LOT better, throw the spurs to her now and she gets on down the road pretty good.

Hey Creggur...I am from the muscle shoals area. Never been to Phoenix City. Most of my travels south of Barber Motorsports park has been interstate travel headed to the beach, I really don't care about the beach but the kids always seemed to get a kick out of it.

Torque...The first ride on the Tenere was to Huntsville. Hit Cycle Gear and Cycle Nation then the Po Boy Factory and the Donut shop....Full belly and a new bike, it doesn't get any better. Anybody around Email or message me and lets burn some gas.
