So I am about to join the Tenere family. Too many issues with my Tiger Explorer and I can't deal with it anymore. A little background on me. I am a freelance writer for RideApart.com. So expect to see articles on updates, modifications, and whatever else people want to see with the Tenere. I am buying the new 14 ES model so there will be some in depth reviews of this new feature as well as the ride by wire and cruise control. I motorcycle camp and ride two up often. That means my articles will have input from a passengers perspective. Hopefully handy to those looking at the Tenere with a passenger in mind. It will be good info for the passenger as to what they can expect as well.

I am buying the bike with my money, it is not provided by Yamaha so the review and results will be mine based on my own experience without having to answer to anyone else.

Thanks. Writing the first initial impressions piece already. Coming off of the Tiger Explorer I expected to be underwhelmed by the motor but I am not. Without giving too much away I can't believe how much lighter the Tenere feels over the Explorer for supposedly being very close in terms of wet weight.
