hi there ,im allmost an s10 owner ,just making my last descions ,on getting one ,have to be honest ,im coming from a long stable ao trail bikes ,like most others lots of bmws (11) 7 gsers,and every thing in between ,xzt,xt cagiva elefant (2) dr ,husaberg etc,etc, been trying to find a good deal at the moment ,first edition (black panels ). got to be honest switching from bmw after so many years does make me a bit nervous ,no there not full proof ,we all know the teribble final drive issues ,fuel pump faliures ,etc ,but they are great bikes.
i really just want a change and nothing else fits the bill except the tenere ,got to be honest and say i couldnt buy a bike unless i liked the look of it ,and the tenere is good looking, nmo final drive issues ,as i saw nick sanders last wek at the bike show ,and he had his record breaking tenere with him .
gos im sorry its not much of an introduction,well heres a bit ,im 5ft 11, could do with losing a few pounds in weight (only a few mind) and love big trail bikes , like cooking ,like early opera (enrico carusso) ,and im kind to animals ,allso have a sense of humor ,much needed in britain with our weather, so hello to every one ,and heres hoping i take the next step and get one .........dave

Welcome on, jd. How are things across the pond? Well, you can't go wrong with a Super Tenere. I mean, how many of us like Caruso ?? How many of us have even HEARD of Caruso ?? Have you heard that Australian guy, David DeVito? Sorry, I digress. Anyway, hope you take the plunge. Again, ::004:: R. ::022::

Welcome aboard Dave! I don't think you can go wrong with the SuperT and I think it will fit your 5'11" frame fine!

Good luck and again, ::004::

Welcome aboard. You cannot help but become an ST addict. Once ridden, twice hooked.

Obviously some of us may wonder as to the origin of you post label prefix.

Being a fellow "Dave" I know some thing are better left a mystery!

Welcome, Dave! I will be interesting to hear any comparisons you have with you ohther bikes...not necessarily the Beemers, because a lot of members here have swiched from the GS, but rides like the Elephant are intriguing to me. A comparison of old school trailie to current day rides would be pretty cool, IMO.

As far as the Beemers go, you might not feel this way now, but the image of them being 'great bikes' (especailly the newer ones) might lose just a bit of the luster once you've owned the Tenere for a spell...Not saying that's inevitable, but it seems to be the general concensus once former BMW owners have enough time on this bike to reflect. As far as 'great' goes, I'd put the old air heads in that category because they truly were head and shoulders about the competition for their time in any aspect that mattered...just my opinion.
