Was at my local dealer yesterday and looking at an ES model, at least one priced like an ES model. The red is stunning!

I did everything except pick up the bike and look underneath it. For the life of me I couldn't find the switch to activate the heated grips. I've searched and can't find the answer. Can anyone give me an assist?

Loved the bike and hope to schedule a test ride soon. In the mean time, I've put my '12 GSA up for sale. I think changes are going to start shortly. ::003::

I don't own an ES, but it may well be integrated into the switch housing and select via 'mode' button, someone will be along shortly to correct me I'm sure.

It is in the dash (right side upper section). You have to set it up in the menu's to actually see it. You set your own choices as to what you see in the right hand section of the menu. It is great.. I have a summer setting and a winter setting.

Ah, so you access it through the menu and view the options through the "dashboard" eh? Thanks guys!

Does anyone know if the non-ES version would do the same thing if the grips are factory installed?

If you install the 14+ Yamaha heated grips they will plug right in and the menu will be available on your dash.

Yep doesn`t need to be ES model, as said accessed by the mode button and there are three stages of heating which are individually adjustable No. 1 I have on 3, No. 2 6 in spring & autumn and 7 in winter and No.3 10 i.e. bloody hot ::012::

The ES or Upgrade Heated Grips have three settings. You can pre-select the heat percentage for each of these settings. The heated grips can be selected and adjusted (dash) while you are riding.
