New member from Texas. After much research and debate I came home with a new 2015 ST two weeks ago. My wife and I put over 500 miles on it our first weekend, love the bike. Honestly until I saw the bike in person I had counted the ST out. My initial reaction to online pictures did the bike no justice. I had narrowed down to this or the BMW 1200 GS. After test riding both, I felt the ST was much smoother. I live full time in a 42' fifth wheel and travel all over for work, so the larger dealer network was appealing as well. The more I researched, the more I knew it was the right choice.
This is my 4th Yamaha. I had a 2001 R6, 2006 R6, and 2006 R1. I've also had a 2006 V-Rod screaming eagle.
So far I've put on a back rest, bumot panniers, and a Yamaha tank bag. En route I've got a seat concepts seat, new lid, and a few other small odds and ends.
This is my first bike with cruise control which is amazing. You never realize how great it is until you finally have a bike with it!
I'm itching to get on some dirt/gravel. If anyone has any suggestions in the south central Texas area I'm all ears. I foresee a trip to do the three sisters ride soon, but I think the more "major" trips will be further west.
