Hi,

I've been registered with the forum for several years, but this is my first post.

I've just bought a leftover 2012 S10 that I traded in my '08 KLR 650 for. I've been pretty active for the last decade or on the LDRider listserv. I thought I was going to buy a more conventional touring or sports touring bike, but after 4 months of shopping I ended up back on another adventure bike. (As an adult I've owned two KLRs, a Wee Strom, and an Old Wing.

My big plans for this summer are to do a circumnavigation of the Great Lakes.

Regards,

Ralph

Hello Ralph, and congratulations on your purchase of a Super Tenere. The Great Lakes tour sounds like a wonderful ride, and the Super Ten is the perfect mount for it!

Cheers,

Bruce

I'm going to make the trip with my friend the Biker Priest From Hell (a campus minister who is on his second 1982 Honda Magna 750). We'll likely start in South Bend, Indiana, and take four days (about 640 miles each day) to make the circumnavigation. That will let us comfortably do an Iron Butt Association Great Lakes 100 ride. I'll probably take a day or day and a half to get from Nebraska to South Bend, and a similar amount of time coming back. At some point on the ride coming or going I'll stop to visit my folks in central Iowa.
