Your not a sissy!!!!! I would put money on it, that there are quite a few KLR die hard dudes who ride more, or further for trips than alot of Harley riders do!!! Not everyone of course though!!! Oh, I am not saying this to start a debate or a thread of any kind, just saying!!! Each his own. I am enjoying more of the day trips last couple of years instead of cross country treks all of the time. Getting off the beaten path is also neat thing to see and do in the mountains on some forest service roads.

Well, "next year" is only a month or so AFTER we are scheduled to get ours - so yours may not be too far behind and we will be reading your stories!!! :D

Jeff, now what are you going to ride? It's still at least 3 months away... maybe more? Was the KLR that bad? I never have owned one but did not like it much when I rode it several times. It felt like it would not take pavement at 80 very well. I have 1 hour out of town solid metro each time I leave home.

Congrats Jeff!!! Sounds like you did well on the pricing. KLR's typiclly hold their value pretty decent.

IMHO, they don't handle higher freeway speeds that well - but then they were not designed for that. Still one of the better DS bikes over the years.

MOtoceph, The klr was ok. i am a big dude at 6'2" 330 and riding 20 miles to work on hwy, it seemed a little small for me, both ergo's and oomph!!!! I know they are a good bike. I mostly wanted to try to make some money on the deal, and I did. This is a first for me in my life of dealing. Normally I give in and take it in the shorts.
I may throw out an offer to a guy this week for the heck of it for a 94 ST1100 with 91k on the clock. I want to get it for $1500 if i can, he is asking $1900. I just want to know if i can get my money back out of it before the Tenere gets here.
The past two weeks, I have worked on a car for one day and made $800 profit, then selling the KLR in a month and made $500, I like this making money feeling!!!!!! It's all going to the Tenere anyway!!!, Less money I have to take out of the family checkbook when the bike gets here.

Thanks Rod!!! Hey, have you heard from Digiacomo lately? Last I heard he was on his way back from Panama, and was near Florida.

I get periodic updates from him. He will be at WeSTOC in Nelson BC later this month. Are you going to be there? Oh wait - you don't have a bike!!!! ;)
