Givi Trekker was so far my first choice for top case. But today while I read description of Givi's rear plate this came: "The SR371 is compatible with the original side case holder, to open the original side cases you will have to remove the top case from the plate."

Is this true? Is it really impossible to open OEM side cases without removing Givi top case? ??? ??? ???

Found this on web: Jeeeeezzz

You have to flex the lid of the side cases while oppening, some might say it will bent and blah blah blah...I say it is feasible.

Givi Trekker 46L with Altrider rear rack.

Again I can't post pictures due to its size, I can't be uploading to Photobucket every time I want to help members. (Please Moderators, raise the file size limit to at least 350kb) A picture worth a thousand words.

It looks more like the top case (which isnt a trekker) is interfering with the side cases.
Maybe go for the trekker outback case. Its narrower than the old style.

Does Altrider rack moves top case more to the back and allows side cases to open with top case still on?

This Givi outback top case look decent. It seems like BMW GS's OEM top case. Didn't saw this one before (I had BMW with OEM cases and did't look for other brands).

I have a 52l version of the Trekker case for some time now. I also have the appropriate Trekker bag that fits perfectly.
The case is waterproof, and it's big and that's it.
For the rest is crap. Aluminum sheets are thinner than than the toilet paper, and somehow i always have to give it a slight bump on the top to open it, so the top aluminum sheet looks like it went through a war.
All the top plastic is discolored from the UV i guess, in about 3 years, of which one and half year the bike sits in the garage, cause I'm working offshore. Basically I'm far from being satisfied with this product, although i didn't have other issues besides the cosmetic ones.

I have the Givi Outback 42l topcase and matching 37L side cases no interference at all, used some 1" thick high den foam and some doubleback tape for a homemade back rest for the wife. On-line they list a part # R95C1 but no one has them in stock.
