Just curious if anyone has this case and has had or is having issues with the upper right corner seal popping out on the lid?? My first one it came completely out, my second one looks to be having the same issue although it has not fully came out "yet". I'm in sunny SoCal, my guess is the seal is heating up and getting soft, then cooling and sticking to the plastic. When the box opens that sticking effect results in the seal getting tugged on.

Just curious if its just me or if I have some unrealistic expectation of a $500 product..... ::010:: I had the full intentions to get the Outback side cases, but if I'm having this much trouble with a month old top box I might pass....

I have the same top box and have had no problems with it, and have been quite impressed with the overall quality and finish. Having said that I'm in not so sunny England, so if the heat thing is the problem I guess I won't be noticing that !!

I too have the same box, the 42L one and just returned from a round trip ride to Grand Junction Colorado, riding across the Nevada desert with temps above 100F. Stopped both ways in Mesquite where I accessed the box many times. I've had no issues with the top box seal I'm not sure what you mean by upper right corner though the forward or rearward one? Gotta picture? I also rode through a couple of pretty good gully washers with no evidence of a leak.

The picture with it out all the way is when I had to pull it out to get it put back in straight. The other picture is what it looked like before I pulled it out. Oddly enough the picture of it twisted inside is the 2nd time its done that. The first time I did not think to get a picture before I pulled it out. Its twisting up like that strictly by opening/closing the lid, I've not touched it outside of that.

So somehow a box that is constantly pushing that seal into the grove of the case is making its way out.... Like I mentioned, the only thing I can think of is the heat or a bad batch of cases???? The 2nd one I got has not popped out "yet". After unboxing it and opening it for the very first time the seal was on the edge and not pushed back like the rest of the corners. I pushed it and it slid in a good bit and so far as not came out.

Really dumb problem to have, my first case was like 28 days old and this new one looks to have the same possible point of failure on day 1.

After reading of your issue, I decided to go look at mine. I've only had it about 4 months, but the seal looks perfect. No twisting noted at any corner.

May be time to contact GIVI on yours. They are normally very good at resolving any issues on their products.

Double checked mine last night too, same as Rod's. I've had this box a little over a year now and two long-distance summer tours as well as short trips local riding and commuting duty.

Thanks for the feedback!

Hopefully the new case I received won't end up having the issue. Just had me concerned that the first time I open it I have to push the seal in more so it sits where its supposed too. Time will tell...

Wonder if they forgot to glue it or something?
That is really what it feels like. It's just pushed in there and during the open close process it comes out.

I have to give it to Givi though, there customer service has been top notch and amazing to deal with.

Agreed, I have an old 47L (E470 or some such?) top box for my ST1300 and the push to release button broke and fell out. I tried to find the replacement parts on their website and could not so I emailed them. They immediately dispatched the new parts to me for free. The box was several years old already at that point.

I had a beat old 52L Maxxia that I moved through a series of bikes and every now & then needed parts after falls. I had WJBertrand's experience in not finding the parts online, but fast response when I'd call Givi.
