Just purchased a great Super Tenere two days ago. 2010 model but with only 5200km and looking like new. It replaces my aging but reliable TDM.

It came with the Yamaha luggage (panniers and top box), touring screen (and original), Oxford heated hand grips and enlarged side-stand plate.

Now on the lookout to see what else I can add. Probably a sump guard and engine/fairing guard.

I'm keen on hearing what others recommend - particularly brands and their sources.

At 60+ years of age my intended use is mainly touring - no hard core stuff for me :)

Congrats on the new bike. ::012::

My suggestion is to add fuel and ride. ::001::

Go see some places and talk to people and buy stuff in small towns.

Better than polishing it in the shed. ;D

And you will figure out as you go what needs to be improved/fixed.

::003:: and ::004::

Welcome to the forum. I'm sure that you will like the bike as the miles add up. I have been very happy with the Altrider bars and skid plate.

Welcome on board, it's not even run in yet, sounds like a great buy. Up and over the Blue Mountains now and you wont look back, enjoy

Congrats on your new ride. I also have a 2010 S10 that I bought with 4000 km on the clock that I bought about 8 months ago. I now have over 16000 km and am touring North American on my bike. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do. If ever in south Australia hit me up. We will be returning late September.

Welcome from Toowoomba. This is the best off the shelf bike I owned and if you are not going off road I would recommend forgetting all the extra guards. Plenty of evidence to show the OEM stuff is good enough even if you slide it down the road.

Cheers
