Starting to think about my next bike, to replace my Honda ST1300 (which had been a great "plains state" bike, we have some big distances here in KS. My brother and I are "long term planning" to start some different kinds of trips, he moving from a Yamaha FJR. Hope you don't mind me lurking around in the background. :)

Welcome to the forum. I owned 3 ST1300's over the last few years and replaced the last one with a 2012 Super Tenere. I loved that bike and put over 32,000 miles on it. I only sold it because I bought a new 2014 Super Tenere which I love even more. You will not experience any of the heat related issues that most ST1300's have. Some folks do not realize that adv bikes make great sport touring bikes. In addition to being able to take you many miles in comfort, they also offer the ability to explore roads with less than perfect surfaces and even some off road.

I will say that at times I do miss the electric windscreen of the ST1300, though. ;D

Welcome STenere. I agree with the observations of fredz43. I find my Super Ten to be a great sport-touring mount, and it gives the option of heading comfortably down the road less travelled at the same time.

An excellent all-round motorcycle, in my opinion.

Cheers,

Bruce

Thanks guys, hope to learn more about how the S10 is used by former Sport Touring riders, and what they gained or lost by the switch.
