Maybe another good example of risk of sending mfg to china instead USA where it once was. Little over 2 million in value lost there maybe!

Yes, I see that the recall is for the liners manufactured in China. In a press release on Sept 13, 2012, they announced a new factory in North Carolina and would be making their products there.

Wow that's a pretty big corporate investment. Hopefully it'll work well for them.

Even Mike from Warm 'n Safe, arguably the most vocal ant-China vendor there is, still has some of his garments imported from Asia (can't remember where specifically, I want to say Vietnam, Taiwan, or Malaysia) He's a pretty competitive guy and very loyal to his customers (and the US) the handful of times I've conversed with him.

Hopefully this trend will catch on if it works out for Gerbing...

I knew a guy back in Ohio whom was making an electric vest with an approved patent. He was using Gorix fabric and found too much of a variation in conductive fabric's resistance to make a consistent product. He stopped making them after just a handful. I heard they were awesome and warm. Nope, we are still left with wires in modern vests.

Extremely difficult to operate any business in the US due to the government.

My new EXO2 Storm Chaser jacket uses 'Fabroc' panels for heat. Undoubtedly there are wires that connect the panels, but very few and they feel very flat. No element wires for the heat though. Very impressed with the jacket so far.
