G'day guys!

I've finally made my way from a Tiger 1050 to an S10.

Two years ago I was in the market for a bike having sold my last in a long line of VFR800s. I'd sold when the kids came along and within two years needed to fill the gap between my legs.

With the kids now on the scene I had a budget imposed and it stretched only as far as a Tiger 1050. Silly me test rode the S10 at the time though. First mistake. I rode the Tiger and modded it to buggery to try to achieve what the S10 was.

Well, after some deep soul searching and late night budget balancing, I made the crossover and after riding 1200KLMS home on it, over 26HRS, I have fallen in love. It is a 2010 OE model with 7,000KLMS on the clock. I have a few items on order to make it commutable in Canberra, but I am going to avoid the neverending mod cycle and keep it stock. I sank a lot of money into the Tiger trying to make it something else, but don't think I'll need to with the S10.

Look forward to chatting, riding and drinking with you all. ::003::

Cheers,

Thanks guys,

I'm looking forward to many happy kilometers.

The topbox, luggage liners and heated grips turned up today. ::013:: Like a kid at Christmas.

G'day, Pilotuh1b, and greetings from Canuckistan! Congratulations on your purchase. The Tiger 1050 is a fine bike. I have some friends who are happy 1050 owners, but its mission is more narrowly focused than that of the Super Tenere, so I can understand how you found it a bit lacking for what you wanted in a motorcycle. Enjoy your Super Ten!

Cheers,

Bruce

Hi mate and welcome to the forum, and congrats on the bike!!
I'd think you'll need more than heated grips up in Canberra - it's 3 degrees on the Gold Coast this morning

3 degrees in the Goldie!

I can see snow on the hills out my bedroom window.

Heated grips are the start of a long list if riding gear needed down here. ;D

Hi Luke! ::004::

Heated clothing is this business, just spent the last two days riding in the cold but I was toasty warm!

Let's get out on a ride soon mate. ::26::

Haha, a certain someone has already sold me on heated gear, just can't afford the powerlet stuff yet. It's on the long list of stuff for the new bike. I'm going to be working through the list as funds become available.

The bonus of heated grips is that they are always on the bike.
