Looks like it does everything. If its intended for Geocaching maybe it has selective "lock to road." Thats the one thing that drove me nuts about my Zumo 550. (I never tried a Montana)

Interesting.....looks like it may use the Montana AMPS rugged mount as well.

Funny, I was bored the other day and having nothing better to read, scanned through the software licensing agreements on my Montana. Was surprised to see there are already Android bits and pieces in there. You wouldn't know it from looking at it!

Montana has lock to road, but by default is off. What does this do if I may ask?
When you're riding along, 'lock to road' increases accuracy by compensating for drift by assuming you're on the nearest road.

Where it gets annoying is when you want to travel off the beaten path. It keeps searching for you and trying to put you on the nearest road. If you're following GPS tracks like the TAT for example, it will simply refuse to let you travel off road without recalculating constantly because its trying to find where you are. With my 478 and other GPS's that allow you to disable it, you can ride where you want and the GPS just follows you.

Right - montana has about 3 clicks to switch profiles which are collections of such settings - I turn Lock to Road on for Automobile, off for Hike & Bike. very happy with montana - look forward to checking out the new one. (I have a Nuvi also - it stays in the truck!)
