What inline fuse size are people using when connecting the fuzeblock to the + terminal of the battery?

20a? 30a?

With 12ga wire, typically 30A is fine.

You want to fuse the main power pretty close to the battery hookup so usually you use an inline fuse with a relatively short pigtail to the battery. Any wire run downstream of the battery prior to a fuse is a short (and subsequent fire) risk.
