My son just called, yamaha says to check under fuel tank with flashlight for a possible leak at the fuel pump junction .Should have been done at PDI but it`s a little late now.I`m sure you would have noticed it by now if you have a leak, check it to be safe ,don`t want to burn it now - waited to long.I`m sure Fredz43 will have full information on this.

by your statement from Yamaha, does that mean it's a known issue with them? I don't smell any gas and nothing leaking on the garage floor.

I just got the call from my dealer, but they asked me to bring it down to have a technician look at it. I don’t smell gas or have leaks either.

I would be interested to know what they are looking for. Hose connection? Pump leak.

They’re looking for a leak around where the fuel pump bolts up to the fuel tank from the bottom…not the fuel pump itself or a hose. The OP called it the junction. My tech called it the “mating surface.”

My Tenere does not have a leak ,just passing info along so everyone can have it checked.I`m sure Your dealer will be in touch with each buyer. This is most likely an isolated case but Yamaha is taking no chances, covering there ass as they should. No worries, ride on'''

I just called the dealer and he said yes he'd gotten the word from corp today on this(so is a known issue), and by happenstance when they assembled the bike and put gas in it they noticed this very leak right then and tightened things up. ;o)

Thanks for the heads up!
