I just received a set of fork springs from Stoltec. I am looking for a thread with some installation experiences. I find many happy up-graders but nothing of the process itself. Any guidance would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Ed

The one thing I do slightly different is I use a foot long piece of fuel line which I use upon re-assembly. I have a hard time trying to keep the rod from falling back into the fork tube when trying to compress the spring. Now I just screw on the fuel line let it fall in, compress the spring, and just pull the rod up via the fuel tube. When you rebuild you'll see what I mean.

Its pretty easy with the right tools.

If the budget allows:
Motion Pro - Motion Pro Damping Rod Bleed Tool
RaceTech - Fork Spring Compressor (Portable)
Motion Pro - Fork Oil Level Tool
Knipex - 8603250 10-Inch Pliers Wrench

Traxxon Dynamics is good one stop shopping for fork service tools.
Traxxon Dynamics - Fork Service Tool Kit, Inverted Forks
Traxxon Dynamics - Fork Spring Compressor Kit

I believe the minimum you will need is Traxxon Fork Spring Compressor kit (or equivalent), assuming you do not wish to change the fork fluid while you are doing the springs. I highly recommend: the Knipex pliers (I have the 6, 7 and 10 inch) since they leave minimal "scars" on the work surface, and the RaceTech tool.

YouTube has many videos on servicing forks.

what bushybar said.

The only real tool you will need is the spring compressor tool..
There are lots of home made ones out there that sort of work, this one is the cat's ass.
For Oil level, you can simply use a measured stick ??? errmm say a chop stick measured to 150mm or whatever the book says.
