Well the FJR has burned it's way through it's front tyre in 5000 miles. Not bad for such a heavy machine. Rear still good. So it's off to my favourite hoop supplier 'Essential Rubber' .... ;) They do bike stuff as well :)

My B-king eats a rear every 2500 street miles, my 600 trackbike eats a set of michelin race rubber in one weekend,

that is why I own a No Mar tire changer (best investment I ever made), I stay busy mounting tires.

Wow. Is that under normal use? In general that's pretty low. Given it's a B-king I imagine there's some rear slippage occurring at times?

That's the price of crazy power. My MT-01 took out a rear every 4K. :( Might be quite an appetite .... but it's good for the soul. ::)

My Honda ST1300 at the front as fast as the rear as well. The best mileage was out of a pair of ME880 BIAS!!! The recommended tire pressure was 50psi!!! Then there were other variants to this tire which were smaller tread depths and pressure ratings. I used the Metzeler MEZ 6. They worked for 8500 front and rear. I am kinda hard on them, and i top 300lbs in my own weight!!

FJR goes in for a replacement hoop tomorrow. BT023 .... £120 fitted. May sound like a lot but I get the use of a courtesy bike to keep me on the road. The courtesy machine is likely to be a 2011 R1 8)

Takes the pain out of spending.

It appears that the one sided wear rate is attributed to the way the bike loads up the front end and how it sits on the road. The UK (drives on the wrong side) wears the right side of the tyre due to the way the pavement camber is constructed. This only seems to effect heavy bikes.
