Is the shock damaged? If not, don't throw it away. Offer it to the forum. You might help someone with a bad shock and no bucks. ::003::

Tim! You haven't left yet? I can swing by Sunday evening... or this evening, if I can give you a hand with something...

Yeah don't throw this away. We can use it for a swing unit or something for the forum people's. Send it my way if you want. I will pay shipping.

I suspect you're not really dumping it - but if you were, it's supposed to get special treatment due to high pressure inside the shock. Any shock place should have a way to release the pressure. But don't do it! You have pm

Mine will be going in the loft ::008::

Going to add a nice shiny new Wilburs and keep the OEM unit in case I ever sell the bike, I have always found you don't get much extra for a well modded bike so better to put it back to stock and flogg the bits seprately.

Must admit I find the OE shock fair on the road one and two up, but know it is going to struggle when pointed to the Alps with both of us plus luggage, which gives me an excuse to upgrade and improve :)
