When I first saw the super tenere a couple years ago I said that is my next bike. Well two weeks ago I made the jump and bought a brand new black 2012. Lots of extras with it also, skid plate, panners, extra front lights, engine guard. extra tall wind shield. The bike rides as good as I thought it would, its fast enough for me and is forgiving. I haven't used it in sport mode yet. I was on a klr650 and new it was time to upgrade. The wind shield is not that good, already hunting for a better one. Cee-Baily's made a great wind shield for the klr but it seems no one has one here yet. The vstream seem to be the preferred one so that may be the route I go. Needs to take some of the air off me on these So-Cal freeways. The breakin period is already gone as I now have 800 miles on her. Shifting really smoothed out after that oil change. Already changed the tires as I picked a screw in the first 100 miles and killed the factory rear tire. So threw on a set of metzlers. I love the bike so far and hope for many years of good riding ahead. :)

Greetings from D.C. and welcome to the forums. Hope you have as much fun on yours as I do over here. So far it's working out to be a fine machine.

congrats with a simple hello, Robb.....
also do a search on the forum for some thoughts on the windshields, a lot of us have tried several different options which could save you some frustration and money.....

So-Cal is a big area, but if you are within an hour or so of Ortega Hwy, there is a few of us meeting at Hells Kitchen today around 11:00.
Go for a ride!

Wish I would have checked back sooner and seen this post. I would have shot over there. I live about 15 minutes from Ortega. Never had the nerve to take my klr650 on Ortega and that was setup as a super-moto. Everyone said that thing would be killer on Ortega. Still getting used to the s10 in the twisties, I'll have to try it at some point.
