Nap time.I’ve got another wider ramp that I’ve been backing my tenere down for 11years. I’ve probably dump it 4-5 times at the bottom in the grass. View attachment 115334No damage with altrider crash bars Not my first spill and won’t be the last.
Furka pass is one of my favourite.Susten Pass, Switzerland early July.
Camped in Andermatt and rode the
Susten-Grimsel-Furka passes. A brilliant trip and hope to ride more mountain passes over the coming years.
Not surprisingly the S10 was faultless
I’d like to ride the Fluela Pass too, had I had more time this year I’d have taken that in as well as Stelvio pass.Furka pass is one of my favourite.
I love Fluela pass too in Switzerland.
Il have to go back to ride Grimsel pass, didn't have enough time last time around
That can't be good.
Thank god your OK that is one scary adventure !In between Fort Nelson BC and Watson Lake YT. The darn thing tried to stick his head into the spokes on my front wheel, spun him around and took a mighty watch all down the right side, cracked up my fender, busted up the inner fairing, blew out my tool bag on the crash bars, ripped off my giant horn and my highway peg, whacked my foot good, and then he split himself open on my pannier, deranging that and bending the bracket. A massive tank slapper ensured, fortunately there was no oncoming traffic and I was able to "ride it out" you can see my tools scattered on the road and deer shit caked onto the bag.

Yea it was a miracle it was a HARD tank slapper, the kind where the rear wheel hops sideways the first 3 times oddly as soon as I regained control I thought to myself "do I need to stop?". I was a bit shell shocked but a friendly local had stopped and pointed this out to me and that snapped me out of it. I picked up all of my tools that I could find, and I had to rearrange my load a bit, because the inboard gas can was rubbing on the wheel so I moved it to the back rack, I duct taped up my front fender, and I cinched the bag shut with some long Arno straps I had, and I made Tagish Lake YT that night, a little over 500 miles. My wife called ahead and the guy at the cabin there had a steak dinner waiting for me when I rolled in at 930 pm, Delicious!A lucky escape for you there and you live to tell the tale and ride another day - not so for the deer!
Well done you for keeping it the right way up though, could easily have been a very different outcome. It happened to me in a car and that was scary enough, it took ages to calm down afterwards so I can’t imagine how long it took you.
