Just Purchaced Super tenere, myself and two KLR's Buds decided to do 400 miles of raw dirt and mud in Montana. This Bike Is Awsome, Not to mention everywhere we stopped the bike was circled by star gaziers. Can not believe how well this power monster handled in the dirt, Ive got 428 miles on her and on our way home the last 30 miles out of no where and extreme vibration and it seems to be in the drive train really bad on acceleration from 2000 - 3500. Any body else experience this? Bye The way i think the KLR guys are going to cnvert

Especially now it vibrates like a KLR ::007::

If you are describing two giant pistons banging away down there 90 Degrees apart at low revs it is, especially when the engine is tight. It's normal.

If it is on light throttle openings....Doesn't sound normal.

Get it back to the dealer but before hand check the spokes, make sure there are no weights missing. Try it on the centre stand and see whether things are hopping around back there. It will make some NORMAL clunky clunky noises at idle and your ABS light will come on, but anything else, like the wheel not rotating true or the wheel being able to be moved side to side is a possible problem. Check that nuts and things are tight. If it is OK to ride get it back and let them see whether it is normal.

The engine will take about 4000 miles to get slightly run in and will be totally run in by about 16000m. It will get smoother till that point.

Do let us know what the dealer finds. That's an interesting one.
::017::

Perhaps a coil vibrated loose...

I agree, Mine has close to 7K on her now and has smoothed out alot from it's "0" mile tightness.

Sounds like something broke. Careful inspection time. And determining whether it is engine-related (engine speed) or chassis-related (wheel speed).

Heavy throttle between 2K and 3K is lugging the engine in my book and it won't be happy about it. But it sounds like your problem came on suddenly after something changed.
