But I’m going to say something positive about the S10:

I think the ABS and the TC functions on this bike are the shits. When you are dealing with a 550 pound bike with a 1200cc engine it’s the only way to go. I’ve blown by 900 miles on this bike and spend a fair amount of time on 2 tracks, forest roads and just some good old Arkansas back country dirt roads. I did this on the stock Metzeler Tourance tires just to exacerbate the weaknesses in the handling of the bike. It’s been dry here and this has left the dirt very loose with little traction. The ABS is great at giving maximum braking power on this stuff, likewise the TC (setting #2) lets you get away with being stupid with the throttle coming out of corners and the like. Fun stuff as these items let you focus on picking lines rather than fighting for traction & trying to stay upright. Now if someone would delvelop a handlebar mounted switch so you could change TC settings “On the fly” and fix the tar in the suspention and fix the ergos and…opps, sorry, those are other rants for later.

The ABS allows the rear to lock up enough to steer when you need to. No need to turn it off, really.

TC2 is the tits on steep/loose climbs. Just hold the throttle open and go. No looping out, just enough wheel spin.
