Dash "Smoked." Sun Damage?

When searching the forum for "dash" and "sun damage," I've seen that the sun has actually MELTED the plastic on their dash. Not my issue, thankfully. Has anyone experienced what's pictured below? It seems to fade over time but it returns after sitting in a sunny parking lot for an hour or so.

I'm taking it in for its 4,000-mile maintenance this week (yes, I know I'm over), and was wondering if I should bring this up to the techs.

Check your brightness setting. If it's turned up to high, it can look like that.

Yes, I would bring it to their attention. It will be documented, so if it ultimately fails, you could potentially have a warranty claim on record.

It's normal. The right side of the display will do that if parked in the sun. It clears on its own once moving, or parked in the shade.

It doesn't look like the sun affected ones I've seen before where the sunlight was directed through a windscreen and caused melting. Odd, to me, that only that side is affected instead of the entire display. Absolutely mention it during the service and get them to make a note of it in the system so it can be referenced later.

Thanks for the quick responses. I set one of my gloves on it today to give it some shade. We'll see if that helps. I'll let the shop know so there's documentation. Good call.

Did you check the brightness setting to rule it out? Mine looks like that when I turn it all the way up. I have mine turned way down to reduce the "shadowing".

Throw your jacket over or otherwise cover the windscreen and dash panel when parking in the sun.

My screen goes a bit funky in the direct sun, so far it comes back ok..

how do I say this , your meter is divided , the right side is a weak point . on my 2019 it had to be replaced under warranty for going dark . I had about 700 miles when mine failed .... no issues on the replacement .

Yep. Took it in today for it's 4000 maintenance and asked them take a look.

It was overcast on Tuesday, so the techs at the shop were unable to replicate the issue. Regardless, they added it to the report so there is documentation for warranty purposes.
