There's a lot of choices for "dash cams" out there. I've been wading through them for the last few days.
Some have poor reliability from online users, if you believe those sorts of reports. Some are still vaporware, but "getting closer to production" (Innov K2, though there was a report of an in-hand delivery by one reviewer, apparently a "first delivery" this week).
Some have a built-in display device in the DVR unit, some have a removeable display unit, some have no display.
Some are 1080, some are 720 "HD".
Some have a wide view (140 deg+), some have a narrower view (130 deg) camera.
Some have one camera, some have two.
Some have a handlebar "emergency" switch (which locks the recorded file, assures "no over-write"), some don't.
Some have GPS capability, some don't. If offered, it's almost always an "option", at more money.
Some have a built-in "G Switch", some don't. This allows the system to detect a "crash".
Almost all have some sort of automatic on / off capability (by wiring to the ignition switch or headlight).
Almost all have a "loop recording" capability.
Lots of choices out there... I read the Taiwanese products are pretty good, tho you have to contact the company directly to get them delivered to the USA.
Two system have my attention today:
Supercam D880 by Aurostars.com.tw, that you can see in Taiwanese only (Switch the website from "English" to "Taiwanese", and you'll see it). They were willing to sell one to me in the US, by way of Alibaba.com payments. This is a two camera, 1080P system 30 FPS, with built in display.
And this one from Amazon:
Blueskysea DV688 Motorcycle Dash Cam With GPS 1080p Dual Lens Motorcycle Recording Camera 2.35" LCD IP67 Waterproof Screen 130 Degree Angle Night Vision Latest Version. I bought this one.
