Very cool vid - wonder if the WR450F can be made street legal easily?

Depends on the state...in Arizona, yes.

And I agree with Dirt Dad, BRING IT HERE YAMAHA!

I have the YFZ450 (quad), and the motor is awesome...

Not a chance in H E Double Hockey Sticks for Californikistan. They put an end to Baja kits and the like as of 2004, IIRC. Try it now, DMV flags the bike and you won't even be able to get a green or red sticker (OHV tag) for it and it will forever be listed in the DMV database as unregisterable. Can't even bring in a used bike unless it is either CA emissions legal or it has over 7500 miles on it unless you are moving here from out of state at the time.

Yamaha, bring us a street legal bike that bridges the gap between the WR250 and the Super Tenere, be it the WR450 or the Tenere 660. Or better yet, BOTH!!!

I'm pretty sure the 2012 is going to be green sticker approved for Cali. In Arkansas I believe that we will just have to add a rear view mirror and it will be street legal. We don't require blinkers here IIRC.

Yes, I just completed some Yamaha On line sales courses on 2012 models, including the WR450F and it did state that it was CA green sticker legal.

I like the part when he arrives at his driveway, then he goes for another ride, I've done the same thing with my S10 :)

Yea, we can get the 450 now....as a green sticker bike. No interest as I don't want to have to trailer the bike to get anywhere. We need a street legal bike, such as the WR250 is. Anything less and I won't even look at the spec sheet.

I share a lot of your sentiments. For someone like me 6'3" 250, the WR250R probably lacks "Grunt" on the bottom end and I don't want a trailer. Luckily in AR making it street legal is going to involve a $10 mirror.

I weigh 255 and have been riding my WR250R for two years and did woods riding all of the time . I have been happy with the performance. When I bought it I cut a 1.5 " hole in the top of the air box , cut the end out of the cat and cut out the small 3/4 " outlet and welded a 1.5" outlet and dropped the counter sprocket one tooth and it's a different machine now ::022::

Well done and properly amusing commercial. ::018::

Now that it exists, we can be certain that we'll get one here in the US eventually. It took about two years to get the WR250R/X.

It would make a nice friend for my WR in the garage. You can never have too many.......

That's me doing the actual riding in that video. ::008:: The young fella is a big dog with Yamaha Australia and just had to be in the video. It was fine with me. R
