I realize you already ordered the seals, so this does you no good, but I'm going to post it up anyway. Use SKF fork seals. They are a LOT better. Seals from a 99-2003 YZ125 or 250 will fit the Super Tenere- 43mm.
FYI- ordered a set spec'd for a 2003 YZ250 and ended up with 46mm (SKF# KIT46K)? checked a couple other sources and they had 46mm (SKF part#KIT46K) seals listed for the yz s' as well.
The vendor I purchased them from has their own part numbers and does not list the original manufacturer part #s.
Tenere is definitely 43mm (I'm guessing SKF KIT43K) can anyone verify that SKF part number?

In need of new fork seals for the 3rd time now. SKF KIT 43K was the kit you used? Hard to find a direct listing for the Tenere from SKF.

Local place charging 300 that fork seals, tire change, cleaning calipers. I have the service manual but I dont have a garage or time to really mess with it unattended.

Seems strange that they don't sell complete fork seal kits for the Tenere , instead of having to order each part separately .
With only 23,000 miles on my Tenere both fork seals are leaking bad, many of you seem quite satisfied with the short seal life but not me. My friend has 100,000 miles on his 800 GS with the original seals but his bike came from the factory with fork gaurds unlike the Tenere with absolutely no gaurds at all.

I'm knocking on wood and absolutely going to jinx myself in writing this, but I've never had a fork seal leak on either of my Teneres. And they've both seen their shares of mud.

That said, I do wipe the forks when I check tire pressures and occasionally do a preventive pass with a SealMate.

By reading this board Leaking fork seals seems to be happening A lot on Tenere's with pretty low miles, how many miles on yours ? Mine only has 24,000 miles and both seals are leaking, it's never been off road but I did ride to Prudhoe bay Alaska and a lot of those roads were a very sloppy mess so maybe that's what caused the seals to fail so soon. But a friend on the same trip riding a 800 GS turned 100,000 miles on the original fork seals with no leaks.

I have ordered the replacement seals and bushings, a 43mm seal driver ,should get here next week. Fork oil I'm probably going to use synthetic automatic transmission fluid which is about 20 weight unless someone convinces me for some reason it's bad stuff for Yamaha forks, been using it in my goldwing for a few hundred thousand miles.

12,000 on this one and 50,000 on the 2012.

Well in order to replace the seals in the Yamaha upside down forks I also had to buy a spring compressor , so after spending about $220 on parts, oil and tools I was able to start changing the seals, everything went pretty well until I tried putting it back together by myself, I didn't have enough hands to do it so had to call my brother to come over and help, with his help it took about an hour to get them both back together, yes I had tried the ratchet straps but I simple didn't have enough hands to do all the little things that needed to be done together by myself, yes we still had to use the ratchet straps even with two people, if there is ever a next time it will probably not take as long but i hope to never need to replace the seals again. I've put about 400 miles on the rebuilt forks and I think it actually rides a little better than it ever did before but maybe it's just my imagination ? Yes I used the synthetic automatic transmission fluid so maybe that has something to do with it, anyway 400 miles and no leaks so I'm pretty well satisfied right now.
