Just had the 40k km service done including plugs and valves adjustment mainly because I was having the updated, updated tensioner fitted. It appears the part is an update on the tensioner that superseded the one prone to failure. The valves need no adjustment as suspected and the plugs looked fine. The bike does now seem smother and stronger so maybe they were not that fine.
The work was done by Clive Ward an independent outside of Newcastle NSW who specializes in off road and adventure bikes, the guy is knowledgeable, thorough, honest and good value.

Help me understand what CCT you had installed. The only upgrade I am aware of is Yamaha part # 2BS-12210-00-00
Are you saying that there is an upgrade to that upgrade? What is the part#? Just out of curiosity. And where did you buy it from?

The part I have is Yamaha 2BS-12210-00 as marked on the box it came from the Yamaha dealer in Cessnock NSW, he casually remarked that it was superceeding the superceeded part.
