I've been posting yearly announcements for the Cache Rally in the events section for the last few years. Next years Cache Rally will be held in Silver City, New Mexico (at least that is the plan for now)....date TBD. When the details are ironed out I'll post in the event section again. But for now, and just for kicks I thought I would start a *Super Tenere Cache to travel around and HOPEFULLY end up at the Cache Rally next summer.

What is a Cache? Think GEO Cache. Except instead of being hid somewhere waiting to be found, this Cache travels, and is handed off from rider to rider. The Cache is something to have fun with and a simple excuse to do two things;
1 - Ride
2 - Meet other riders

So specifically, what is our Super Tenere Cache?
It is a simple container that is handed from rider to rider and in that way travels to where-ever the riders take it. A **trinket is placed in the Cache, the next rider takes the trinket out, keeps it, and replaces said trinket with one for the next person. There is also a note book in the Cache that each rider who carries the Cache can sign in and note location and time when the hand off happened.

Also when I start the cache's travels and hand it off, I will start a thread that each participant can also post in so we can keep track of the cache's travels.

My goal for this specific cache, is that it ends up in Silver City at the Cache Rally next summer with a list of S10 riders who have carried it and MORE IMPORTANTLY met up (rubbed shoulders) with another rider to hand it off.

*To raise the odds that the Cache will end up at the Rally, I would like to limit handoffs to S10 riders only.
**Ideally trinkets will have a personnel connection to the person placing it in the Cache.

Sooooooooooooo.......... I'm near SLC UT who wants to play???

If you want it to travel the country, im in western maryland and would be interested in participating.
If this thing gets going it could end up in your neck of the woods. Keep an eye on this thread.

Right now, about 1800mi. Usually get to AZ in January. My guess is the new owners still make pies. Last stopped in 2020. Back then they suggested you call a day prior to custom order.

I"ve got conversations going with a couple riders interested in a hand-off and its looking like we can make connections. But there is no reason we can't include more and have multiple participants.
So..if you are interested and live 'kind-a' between SLC and Tucson give me a holler...lets get this party started! I'll be 'kind-of' be on that line between the afore mentioned cities between the 21st and 29th...

Kind of an inauspicious beginning for the cache.
I handed it to this woman today she's a friend of my wife and I, and she will hand it to SkunkWorks when he visits Arizona.
It's not the way I like to do it but SkunkWorks and I had to do this to make a connection , and at least the cache is now started. So it's in Arizona, Superior is the city I handed it off at. But she lives in Mesa. If you want to play get a hold of SkunkWorks.
