Head north into AR/OK for 300 miles.. then back to dallas.. Pull into my garage and we'll change your oil, filter, FD Oil and do all the 600 mile checks - there aren't much - then you can get back on the road and not worry about anything plus you get a cheap service and free lunch...

AvGeek, I might take Mellow up on that. Some think it isn't a good idea to run a new bike engine on a highway at set speeds for prolonged periods of time. Heck, based on that one website, even if you moderately ran the bike up and down through the RPM range using engine braking at the same time for 50 miles that would be good to, then change the oil at 50miles.

Just my thought, not a thread starter that has already been done here some place.

My thoughts on the whole break-in stuff is that Yamaha knows a lot more about the product THEY are building and THEY have a vested interest in making sure it's deemed reliable....

So, THEY are going to be VERY conservative with any break-in comments.... if they say to do something in 600 miles, it probably means the bike could easily handle 2 or 3 times that if not more. Not saying you should push it.. just that adhering to what they recommend should be good enough.

Geek, just let me know what your plans are, hopefully, I'll be installing stuff on my SuperT when you pull in with yours.
