Blue Ridge Bike Fest 2011
The 2011 Bike Fest will feature motorcycle test rides from manufacturers like Yamaha and Triumph. The manufacturer trailers and staff will be on site to assist with any questions guests have. "This is a great new addition to the event and something people have been asking for" said Waynette Anderson, one of the event's promoters.
There are also several changes to the Custom Bike Show at the event. Top prize has been raised to $1,000 and the International Master Bike Builders Association will be back to judge the event. For people that don't want to leave their bikes all weekend there will be a ride-in custom show on Sunday. Both of these custom shows are sponsored by Yamaha.
The Blue Ridge Bike Fest will feature stunt riding from The Star Boyz in 2011. The Star Boyz performed at the event in 2009 and have been invited back. The Roanoke Valley Harley Davidson Outdoor Stage will also feature new bands, local and national, that have attracted crowds at a lot of different motorcycle rallies. Friday night Out of Spite from Lynchburg will open up for Jonathan Tyler and the Northern Lights. On Saturday night the winning band from the WROV Battle of the Bands will open for Blackberry Smoke.
Friday and Saturday nights will also feature the Ms. Blue Ridge Bike Fest Bikini Contest. The winner of this contest will be the official spokes model for the show and receive thousands in cash and prizes. The Bikini Contest is one of the most popular features of the event.
Guests of the Blue Ridge Bike Fest purchase an armband that gets them into the show all 3 days for $15. Kids that are 12 and under are admitted for $5 for the weekend.
