My Sith Ifrican friend Bundu finally got around to installing his decal kit yesterday and excitedly sent me photo's of the results.
Black looks mag-bloody-nificent on the Silver bike

Bundu's exact comment by email was:
"done! wasn't as much of a hassle as I had expected - see attached pre-lim pics.
I think the RED Super Tenere stickers will have to go!
Will confirm with my lady this eve, but would you agree?"

Not sure about the red stickers - The jury is out on that one...
The Silver is definitely a nice looking color on this bike, especially with the added stickers and the way they contract with (yet enhance) the other black components.

Bundu's pics.

Still waiting on pics of the decals on the Black bike but will post them up as soon as they are done.

Greg.

Oh, that is nice! Mine may be the opposite, silver on black. Thanks for the pics.

D'ya know I think I like it without .... didn't think I would. Like I said earlier that new decal set from Wasp transforms the bike. Looks so much better.

Hi Bundu,

I notice from your pics that you have the same screen setup as me -- Yamaha touring screen, TT mount/adjuster, side deflectors. May I ask how tall you are? I've been struggling to get mine adjusted to an "ideal" position which dials out the worst of the buffeting. You seem to have the screen set both high and flat. It also looks like you might have the seat in the high position.

Would be interested in your comments (sorry for going OT!).

Hey rocca,
I'm 1.92m tall and the seat is in the high position - I've also struggled to get rid of the buffeting and my present setting seems to be the best, for me at least - TT adjuster mounted in high position on S10 and screen set highest and most upright.

I'm still not 100% happy, but took a spin on a friends F800GS with standard screen and it felt like I was being blown of the 800 at 170km/h, which on the S10 would be no problem at all, so maybe one just becomes more and more sensitive and perhaps expects the impossible at times...

Not sure if you could see from the photo's, but I also have the SW-Motech GPS mount at the screen - it used to vibrate quite a bit, so I made a rubber 'bumper' that sits between screen crossbar and GPS mount - perfectly stable and solid now...

Those photoshopped photos you linked to confirmed what I thought my opinion would be...I'd like the looks best with the red sticker removed.

Thanks Bundu, I'd guessed by looking at your photos that you must be searching for the right set up. I've mounted the TT bracket in its highest position and set the screen so it's high but perhaps a little more slanted than yours. It's the best compromise I've found so far (I'm about 1.86m and ride with the seat on "low" because I prefer the bike's handling that way). My thinking at the moment is that maybe another 5cm on the height of the screen would kick up the airflow sufficiently to create the bubble of calm that it would be nice to have at high speeds.

I've got one of the Touratech Zumo brackets fitted to the bar of the screen adjuster - they're very well isolated from vibration but the downside is that the whole assembly can wobble a bit on its "suspension". Still not entirely convinced that the bike's screen brackets are stout enough to take the additional loading of an adjuster plus GPS/ bracket, and a bigger screen, over the long term...

I share your concerns about the strength of the screen mounts - the adavantage of using the SW-Motech GPS mount, in my opinion, is that it seems to strengthen the whole setup a bit, as it goes right down to the lower area of the dashboard - I hope Yamaha put in some effort to improve the next version of S10's screen and make it adjustable and stronger.....
