It's time to ditch the ugly lollypops and hoping to find some bright LEDs at a decent price. Any thoughts? Or have some pics to share?

The newer stock ones (not cheap) or some expensive ones are the way to go. Most led's suck.
Seen too many bikes with aftermarket led's and it's like, what no signals?

Thinking you would still need a new flasher relay instead of using resistors. I think someone on this sight mentioned ELFR-1 as a simple plug and play.

Hesitating pulling the trigger on the newer stock LEDs. Just thinking there's got to be a better/cheaper option...

What do you need to fit the 14 and newer ones on a First Gen? Just the lights?
The 14/15 OEM Turn signals have a different connector than the First Gen There are a couple of options you can buy the new connectors from eastern beaver as well as connector to go into the existing conectors and make a patch harness so it would be plug and play. Option two would be to buy existing connector off of eBay(Custom Led has them too) with bullet connectors and cut the connector off on new turn signals and add bullet connectors additional wire may need to be added. Or you could cut both connectors out and add bullet connectors.

i picked up al four OEM LED have not installed them yet. The OEM LED's have resistors in each turn signal i am not 100% sure that the existing flasher will work. I have read in other posts that Custom Led has flashers that will work they have one on sale now for 19.98. They also have the oem yamaha connectors for out bikes.

If you go the route to make a harness these are the connectors from easter beaver NEW Sumitomo Sealed TS025 the front is a three wire and the rear is a two wire. Eastern Beaver si the only place i have found them. i ordered over 10 days and have not received the shipped email yet previous orders were much quicker.

Thanks for that info, I have those connectors from eastern beaver here. I think that I will clip the LED lights plug off and put one on that connects to my stock harness. Another project!

Yup thats what i did. Made them plug and play. U will need a Elfer relay or resistors. I use the elfer. Work goody. Sometimes its better to bite the bullet and get what u want than trying the cheapy way and throwing it all in the trash. That was my route lol. If you want my old LED setup i can send it to you. Even has the park light module.

The cheap LEDs are 2 wire not 3 like factory. So the peeps that make the ELFR make a park light module you wire in line and it will make your front park lights come on like factory. Cheers

yep, what Summit boy said. My Chinese LEDs had a bunch of dirt in the lenses. I swapped bikes with a buddy of mine, and the turnsignals were invisible.
Stock 2014 and up is the anwser. Not cheap, but cheaper than buying a whole bike
