I was hoping that the Icon Squad 2 would work for me: http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/1/1/418/16955/ITEM/Icon-Squad-II-Backpack.aspx
But alas, my laptop is to big for the pack.
I really like how the straps fasten to the front of you and really spread the weight across your body, rather than the straps digging into your arm pits.
I am finding all kinds of backpacks out there, but none having the features I want, mostly comfort, fit a 17" laptop, and waterproof. Yep, I've been known to ride in the rain.
If anybody has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate them.

And only $200!

I found a Swiss Gear backpack at Walmart for $60 that fits my 17" MacBook Pro no problem, and since I seem to spend as much time at the airport as anywhere else, it is the Travel Smart version, which means no more pulling my laptop out of my bag, just unzip and lay flat. Its not waterproof, but will fit into a large kitchen trash bag.

I never said it was the only option. There are a ton of bags that can hold a pizzabox sized laptop but the kitchen sink is so versatile and durable I really find it hard to beat and it's worth it's weight in gold, keeps my gear dry, my back comfortable and looks bad ass. It's more than a laptop bag, I use it as carry-on luggage, overnight bag, I've had it loaded with my laptop, camera, phone, chargers for all 3, clothes for the night, some food, strapped my tent to to the pack and then that was all i needed for an overnight camping trip.

It really boils down to how much bag you really need.

The way weight is distributed in this pack really makes walking/riding with the bag on effortless.

Kriega R30 fits the bill in all respects. Pricey but good.

Good luck!
