Auto photo reduction on upload?

Would it be possible to install a auto photo re-size / reduction on upload in the forum setup?

I have no Idea on what it takes to do so or the cost involved but I think it sure would be nice.

Cuz I'm lazy and I hate resizing pics to upload. ;D

My camera has a program that is installed on the computer for transferring pics from the camera. When I download the pics I choose all pics for re-size and the program does the rest. It will leave the original and make a copy at a lower resolution, 640x480 or less. Quick and easy..

I just downloaded a plug-in for the forum that should make this possible. I've yet to install and test it though, so sit tight. I'll try and get to this tonight.

It did! I installed on a "test" forum I keep around for stuff like this.

I actually am going with two mods:

1. Automatic resize on upload (attachments)
2. Automatic resize when linking (with "bar" on top of pic to click to see full size picture

I'll take the forum down for a bit late tonight to install these. I don't like to install new packages while it is live, bad things can happen.

Installs are all done!

Now when you choose to attach images they will automatically be resized. Also, the per-post attachment limit still applies, but it's the size after the resize that matters now. So as long as the image you choose to attach is less than 5000k in size it should work.

Also, I installed a nifty little mod that will resize linked images with a one-click view of the original size. See the example below:
