That is pretty impressive. Trouble is they must now be burning gas and oil like there's no tomorrow. They're big power consumers and that'll come at a huge price. Their economy will continue to suffer as a result. I guess thats gonna mean 'spensive bikes n stuff

They may be either burning or converting WV coal to syn gas too. The spanky new mountain top removal surface mine (aka the rape of Appalachia, again ::009:: <sigh>) behind these signs is financed by a group of Japanese investors. Doesn't necesarily mean they are exporting to Japan, but WV coal folks have lately been courting the Japanese like they were the last women on earth.

They are apparently pushing renewables, but as anyone who looks into can tell you you can't transition 30% of your power in one year.

Most of the "slack" has been taken up with energy conservation measures.

Some of them are funny though. Apparently 26C deg air con and Hawaiian shirts are the big thing ATM.
