i want jacket that is waterproof outer shell(not ones with waterproof liner) and with good air ventilation.
This, in my experience is not likely/possible. A jacket with an internal waterproof barrier does not ventilate effectively. Vents open but the jacket just puffs like a balloon because the Gore-Tex like barrier stops the air flow. A jacket with a removable liner will breath and can be made very water resistant with some scotch guard like substances and the added liner allows for complete protection from the elements. In Malaysia, I would be tempted by a good mesh jacket with an additional rain jacket.

Have you ever tried an Aerostich Darien? Built in GoreTex membrane and vents that open completely and let plenty of air flow thru. The unlined Goretex inner membrane, however is a bit rough and I always wore a long sleeve wicking tee under it. I think that if they put a sewn in thin perforated nylon lining like many jackets have, it would be perfect. Oh, yeah, if I were designing it, it would also have a pouch in the back for my water hydration unit. Why won't Andy listen to me? ;D

I really don't care to carry an extra liner along that takes up room and requires me to stop, take off my jacket, get it out of the saddlebag, and put on underneath. Just my personal preference, but I have tried it both ways and for now, will always choose an internal waterproof barrier.

I'm with fredz43...I like the Darien.

In the winter I use the lighter liner with a couple of layers underneath and have been comfortable down to 40....w/o the liner, I've been comfortable up to 85, with all the vents open. Above 85 and it gets pretty hot, especially with high humidity.

I also have a Tourmaster mesh summer jacket, but don't find it that much more comfortable then the Darien.

Another vote for the Darien. I had one for quite some time and made the mistake of selling it. Never replaced it as they are a bit pricey and could never find another deal on a good used one. I still wear Darien pants and they are by far my favorite. I probably wear them for 95% of my riding and the other 5% I wear my Roadcrafter.
