Adding world maps (for those in Europe) on Zumo XT?

Hi, I think I've narrowed my search to the zumo xt but in UK it only comes with Europe maps.
What scope is there for adding world maps? I've been told on FB forum that openmaps can be added, but no one has said what sort of functionality they have. I'm not bothered about elevation etc outside europe, but street level (including tracks) are they available?
Thanks all.

I’m sure I’ve seen them advertised with North America pre installed?

Thanks MattR, unfortunately, I've now already bought one, however two things:
1. I have NO intention of going to North America, for one, that involves shipping.
2. I have literally a few minutes ago taken delivery of tha Zumo, and interestingly when I updated it, it mentioned something about world maps, so maybe they've changed that....
Once it finishes charging I'll go into it and see, and of course report back here what has changed if anything.

What do you think of it? I’m considering upgrading to one too

It's really good on first impressions.
However, I find it quiet even in a car, so heaven knows how I'm supposed to hear the instructions on a noisy bike.
Caveat, I was using it on supplied battery and not on power source, maybe it's louder then.

Bluetooth is best. Screen is easily viable in sunlight. Much much better than anything else.

As in bluetooth for sound to hear instructions? I don't use bluetooth other than for the traffic info to be sent from phone.
Is it quiet in your opinion considering it's meant to go on a bike?

To be honest i don't use the sound. I have a Senna and can use that but i use it for music. The XT shows you so much more info on the screen that for me i really would not need to hear it as well. You can down load overlays which show you buildings ao it's much easier to see where you are.

Thanks fac191, I used it properly for the first time today and was dismayed at the amount of room taken up by the traffic info, it made the visible screen almost half the size, is there a way of making the traffic info pane smaller?
In this respect alone so far, I much prefer TomTom's version (a thin strip at the side letting you know of delays, cameras etc) at least on a phone.
I don't know if the standalone TomTom bike satnav operates similarly, if it does, part of me wishes I hadn't bought this XT.
