I only got 15 miles riding home from the dealer. It was about 92 degrees out. None of the complaints I've heard so far seem a problem. Heat was not noticable, turbulence with the stock screen was no problem, stock seat was fine, handlebar position was damn near perfect, power was fine. i went to 80 or so on the interstate in the flick of an eye. The looks is just awesome, I love it, complaints of the turn signals being too big doesn't seem to be a problem. The bike is awesome in looks! No dispute of that and it runs damn fine too. What else could a person ask for? The wife took the 11 month surprise as OK too, kind of a shock probably, but I held the secret 11 months from her of this Tenere. I rode a 77 KZ650 to the dealer, rode the new bike home and walked the 15 miles back in 3 1/2 hours to retreive the old Kaw. Pretty good day.
Good report Ron!!!!! Glad to hear you are off on a good start on the SuperT!!!

Picked up big blue yesterday, 360 of the wettest miles in my life. flooding everywhere, though the roads were not under water, driveways and fields were a mess. flash flooding had knocked down some crops to make way for the temporary rivers, and I was driving right thru it.
the bike did not seem bothered in the least. resistance to side winds, compared to my vstrom, was very good in this case. the battlewings never felt anything but glued to the road, i did slow down some. visibility was so bad that I ran with a signal light on and kept my speed up a little so that I wouldn't get run down, the roads were too narrow to pull off to the side and traffic was non-existent. could not see a driveway until I was past it.
comfort was very good. motor smothed out quite a bit after about 100 miles, maybe a bit more by the 360 mile mark. less vibes thru the tank than my wee strom, certainly never intrusive, a non-issue imo.
at 6ft1, 34in inseam, there was some high frequency buffeting noticable when conditions were calm. the screen seems to be set in the middle position, which I may play with today. ducking down revealed that there is some very clean and quiet air to be found, but I do not think the stock screen will do it for me.
the grips are nice and long, my wide hands usually find the ridge on the end of the grips, reducing comfort, not an issue here.
why does this thing feel so light. it is literally 100lbs heaftier than my wee strom (wet weights) and drives 100lbs lighter, closer to the ktm990 adventure, though much smoother, engine wise. balance and low speed handling were a bit of a nice suprise. steering lock also seemed generous.
the ride was a very, very positive experience, even including the weather. worth the wait!
