I took a little ride on my Super Tenere this September to Torrey, Utah for a few days. On the way back I met up with a friend from Florida that was in Salida, Co. riding dirt bikes. He took a KLR and was 2up with his girlfriend, another buddy was on a DR650, while I took the Super Tenere. 3500 miles total, and about 400 miles in offroad that monday in the Salida area.

My favorite was the Alpine tunnel trail, although it caused lots of damage to my bike, cracked my front fender and broke a headlight filament. A very fun day for my first real offroad with the Super T.

Bill has posted 99 pictures, and some are similar so you might want to put them on slideshow and fast to get through them quickly.

Great pictures, The Alpine Tunnel area is awesome , one of my favorite trails is Williams Pass over the top of the Tunnel. It’s only open in August .

Nice pics! How is your k60 scout rear tire lasting?
I think it is good for another 3000 miles. It has slightly squared off, but still deep lugs. I pulled it off when I got home and put the EXP back on to finish it off. I only had 4000 miles when I left for Torrey.

No joke, I really liked that area. Pitkin, Tincup were like painted towns in a book. The switch backs and steep slides up to the Tunnel was great. I had broken my front fender just before that and remembered I had some electrical tape in my tankbag which saved the day. Otherwise I would have had to break it the rest of the way off and then worry about the cross over brake lines getting snagged with the front wheel.

Nice pictures. Looks like you had excellent weather.

The rear of the fender broke? Is it repairable?

The fender broke from heavy hits on rocks and rutted bumps at speed. I think the heavy fender extenda caused the fender to flex till it cracked up both sides just behind the rear mounting points then extended all the way across to just behind where the crossover brake line is anchored. I used electrical tape to repair and finish the ride and made the 2 day trip home.

I have applied some carbon fibre on the inside and been running it ever since, very strong now. I did order another fender tho, $140.

My forks were really firm and I did not air down from the stock 33 psi. New .95 springs on the way from Traxxion.

Wow - did not think the fenda-extenda added that much weight! I need to keep an eye on mine.

I think it will be fine for all but the worst conditions. I hit some embedded square edge rocks going up the road leading to Alpine tunnel. There were so many rocks I just could not miss them all. The fender held up all day until I hit that one really rough section.
