i'm not sure i'll outlive mine and i'm 41 with 110k on my 2012. Whenever i tear into anything to maintain it i'm surprised to find very little wear. I've just finally done my fork bushings.Love your feedback.
May you outlive your bike!

I own a 2023 S10 and a 2022 BMW R1250GS. I’m riding the GS to the BMWOA national rally next week and upon my return it will sold. It has been a no problem bike that I just don’t like as much as my S10 (my 6th S10 since my first 2012 was purchased in August 2011).2.5 yrs ago had narrowed my search for an ADV bike to S10 and GS. Hmmm...let's see...persnickity German engineering or good ol' reliable Japanese engineering. Was an easy choice for me. Leaving on Friday for Prudhoe Bay (from MN). Let the games begin!
I kind of wish I had got my act together in time to do the MOA National. It's in Redmond this year, right? Attended one there many years ago on my 97 GS.I own a 2023 S10 and a 2022 BMW R1250GS. The BMWOA national is in Redmond, OR. I have a motel room with friends for three nights and then ride back home. I live 20 miles due south of St. Louis, MO on the Illinois side. I am 40 miles from great riding in southern Missouri.I kind of wish I had got my act together in time to do the MOA National. It's in Redmond this year, right? There's some beautiful country out that way.
What part of S. Illinois? Just N of Terre Haute on the line myself.
Know the area well. Lived at a Collinsville address from 2000 to 2005. Belonged to the Euro Motor Union group at the time and attended meetings down on that SW corner of the beltway system. The BMWOA national is in Redmond, OR. I’ve belonged to the Euro Motor Union for 25 years, lived in the area almost my entire life, and ride the area south of St. Louis all the time. No traffic, great roads, and lots of skilled riding buddies. I live in Waterloo, Illinois 25 miles from the ferry.Know the area well. Lived at a Collinsville address from 2000 to 2005. Used to run south along the bluffs to St. Genevieve and take the ferry over to that excellent riding around Petosi.
Really miss making those runs.
I'm pretty sure I know who you are. Are you a retired State employee?I’ve belonged to the Euro Motor Union for 25 years, lived in the area almost my entire life, and ride the area south of St. Louis all the time. That is correct…..still meeting the Tuesday bike crowd with 6-16 people showing up. Stop by Bandanas BBQ in Collinsville 1100am on Tuesday if you are ever down this way.I'm pretty sure I know who you are. Are you a retired State employee?
I think I used to have lunch with you and a group that included a State Farm agent. Mexican every week. I really miss that crew.
We moved to NW Indiana about 2005 for wife's job with US Steel. Then to Las Vegas in 2009 which is the reason for the forum name.
I had a red 97 GS, A blue SV650 and a DRS 400 at that time.
I'm planning to do a STL trip sometime soon. I will plan it so I can make the lunch. Forgot it had evolved to the BBQ place. That is correct…..still meeting the Tuesday bike crowd with 6-16 people showing up. Stop by Bandanas BBQ in Collinsville 1100am on Tuesday if you are ever down this way.
