Does anyone know where aux accessory leads are located as I would like to fit a Fuze block and prefer a switched outlet

Thanks :)
I don't think you will find such on the ST. What most of us have done is come off the battery with an additonal fuse box. You can buy a setup ready to install with a relay where you can mix and match whether they are always hot or switched with key on. I bought the Eastern Beaver setup and have been 100 percent pleased. Just goggle Eastern Beaver here.

I tapped into the aux light plug thing (white square connector) for most of my aux stuff. Can't remember if it's for OEM lights or heated grips.. but, either way it was the same as on my previous 2012. You'll get a ground, always hot and hot w/ignition wire in that connector. I just used some posi-taps and all was good.

Thanks for your replies ...... it seems that I'll have to splice into an existing power source, I was hoping that there might be a 'spare' one provided on the bike somewhere

I have a fuzeblock unit from a previous GS which I was hoping to be able to use ::008::

Don't know why anyone would say there is no such thing, but as Mellow so eloquently pointed out there are "accessory" plugs on the Super Tenere. One is there to plug the Yamaha accessory driving lights into, and the other for Yamaha accessory heated grips.

They are located under the large right side panel that covers the battery and all the other electrics. Pull that panel, the start looking up in the area where the tool kit is located. Just behind and above the cubby for the tool kit is a large bundle of wires. Up in there, amidst all these wires, are two white plugs that appear to *blind*, or blocked off. They actually are not, it's just that they have dummy plugs plugged into them. You pull these dummy plugs and you have access to those circuits, and both are "switched" - i.e. they do not have power unless the ignition key is on and in the *RUN* position.

If you look carefully you will notice the blind, dummy plugs that come out of these circuits can actually be used. All you need to do is pull the tiny, little rubber buttons out of the terminal slots of the plugs themselves and get the proper "pins" to put in them so they engage with the receptacle pins in the other half of the plug. You can get these pins, or even whole connection plug assemblies from Jim at Eastern Beaver here - http://www.easternbeaver.com/Main/main.html - and has been mentioned he even has "plug and play" kits, like his "PC-8 Fuse Block" or "3 Circuit Solution" - http://www.easternbeaver.com/Main/Bike_Specific/Yamaha/yamaha.html - to make all this even easier.

A quick search of the forum will find you literally dozens of posts about these "accessory" plugs, and a myriad of ways many here have used them.

Hope this helps!

Look a little harder and you'll find it on the 2014. Took me a while because Yamaha tucks them in behind other wires.

Dallara, thank you so much for your detailed response, my bike has OEM heated grips and Yamaha accessory LED lamps fitted.

I felt /hoped that there would be some spare leads, although my dealers technician was clearly unaware of these leads

I'll be out on the bike today and tomorrow so will look for the leads on Monday

Sorry for raising this subject again but I did search for this item and wasn't able to find an answer.

Thanks also for the link which will be very useful. ::003::

Even if your bike is fitted with the Yamaha heated grips and driving lights, and as such those two plug sources are used, not all is lost. You can still get that same plug connection from Jim at Eastern Beaver, and then all you would have to do is build a simple "Y" connection harness lead so your Yamaha accessory could still plug in and yet you could plug in one of his "3 Circuit Solution" or "PC-8" kits. After all, the source voltage from the Yamaha accessory lead is only used to trip the 3CS or PC-8 relay, not for power, so it would not affect the operation of your installed Yamaha accessory heated grips or driving lights.

Just contact Jim at Eastern Beaver via email and he will walk you right through it quickly and easily.

Good Luck!
