If you get the 13, it might have the vibey/rattley clutch basket, which IMO takes the joy out of ownership. The CCT will end up nagging at you and you’ll replace it. The rear suspension is woefully inadequate in standard trim, if you plan two up riding, or one up fully loaded.

The 18 or new has these improvements as standard. Plus a better dash and CC.

With the '18 and '23 options, I don't know why you'd even consider the '13. I get the money part, but the newer bikes are better investments.
Yup the 2013 is out of the equation. Thinking 2018 or new 2023 at this point.

Do you work on your bikes or take it to the dealer for everything? I have had occasions where the dealer has to stick hard on the money but can manage side deals like discounted accessories or discounted normal maintenance such as fluid changes. See if he can do some of that. I have a 17 standard and am larger than average so I upgraded front and back suspension and now I never adjust my suspension unless I am going away on a big trip then it is a few clicks on the rear spring so no big deal. I just put a better spring on the back. Get rid of the progressive springs up front if you have a problem with it. But an 18 standard is still a great bike. 9% is a tough pill to swallow! You'll have bags on the 18 and that'sa plus.

Actually, I can have a really good deal on a brand new 2023 for 15,060 OTD . Plan would be to finance the bike (probably going to finance like 6K) at 9% interest rate or buy the used 2018 for 11K cash. I'm really hesitating. The new one has warranty, but the 2018 is in pristine condition. Opinions?
Borrow to invest, pay cash for your toys. If you don't have the money you don't buy it. I have lived by that all my life and it has served me well. That $15,000 bike quickly becomes a $20,000 bike after 5 years of financing it. Does that make sense? I would go with the 2018 hands down and that is what I had, and it did have the ES. I did not care for the hard bags since the lock was fiddly so got some soft bags but the hard bags will do until you can save up for them. Oh and get a Madstad bracket and screen ;)
And a flash if not already done!
That should stir up the hornets.

Hmmmm. Between the Kawi and the Tenere, not sure that one's gonna get a lot of love. I still think the T-12 is gonna be your new favorite.
